|.NET User Groups Learning Guide: Canada|
Next up is Canada, where it appears that the Toronto area can stake claim to the title of .NET User Group Capital of Canada. If we forgot yours, wherever you are, let us know so we can add you to the list.
Montreal Visual Studio User Group
This group holds two to three meetings per month in the Montreal area on Visual Studio, SQL Server and patterns and practices.
Vancouver .NET Framework User Group
This started out as the Vancouver NT Users Group in 1996; the group changed its name to the Vancouver Technology User Group in 2002. It holds regular meetings in and around Vancouver.
Toronto Visual Basic User Group
Holds monthly meetings at the North York Center in Toronto. The best way to stay posted on events is to join the TVBUG Yahoo! Group, which is used by the group organizers to make announcements and by the group's members to discuss development related topics.
East of Toronto .NET User Group
Founded in 2004, this group's monthly meetings are at the Whitby (Ontario) Public Library, 405 Dundas Street West. Occasional mixers and other networking events with other local .NET user groups are common as well.
Canada's Technology Triangle .NET User Group
This group in suburban Toronto meets monthly at 25 Water Street South in Kitchener.
Ottawa .NET Community
The group based in Canada's capital meets monthly at Microsoft's offices at the World Exchange Plaza (100 Queen Street, Suite 500).
Winnipeg.NET User Group
This group, which has addressed Agile development, Team Foundation Server and BizTalk Server 2006 in recent meetings, meets monthly at Lombard Place (at the corner of Portage Avenue and Main Street).
Edmonton .NET Users Group
This group meets toward the end of each month at Edmonton's Milner Public Library, 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square. (For a laugh or seven, check out the blog of the group's vice president, Justice Gray.)
