Microsoft provides view of SQL Server 2005 systems

Microsoft has posted a download that offers insight into the plethora of system and object relationships in SQL Server 2005.

SQL Server 2005 offers a myriad of systems and object types. While some objects stand alone, many others are connected to several objects, and each relationship offers its own set of circumstances and limits. To make sense of it all, Microsoft recently posted a detailed wall chart -- 3 feet high and 3 feet long -- that organizes SQL Server 2005 into its 14 systems and dozens of objects. Solid and dotted lines represent object relationship types, and constraints are highlighted in red type.
