Leaving buttons out of a Web printout

I have a data grid on a Web form and a print button. On clicking the print button, the Web form must be printed along with the data grid. However, I would like the buttons to be left out from the printout. How do I do it?
I generally place a "Display Printable Version" button on the form and provide the user with a version of the page where the buttons are not visible. I suspect it would be possible to write some JavaScript that would hide the buttons before calling the browsers print method.
