Hi. I read your article on what to do if you get the message that the specified Web server is not running ASP .NET version 1.1 and I followed the directions (run C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\aspnet_regiis.exe -i), which did run -- but nothing changed. I still have no Web services extensions under IIS and cannot open my .NET applications. Can you help me? Getting through to MSDN is impossible.
If you're talking of "Web services extensions under IIS" you most probably have Windows 2003 installed. The installation instructions are different, therefore. When you install VS 2003, you get a warning and a link to the appropriate documentation. Basically, you have to go to the Windows Components installation, Application Server, and add FrontPage Server Extensions and REMOVE ASP.NET (as you will already have that installed with VS.NET). Next, as I said in my post, run the registration script but using the 1.1 .NET Framework version folder:
