Microsoft's MSDN site offers a free download of a SQL Server add-on called the SQL Server XML View Mapper 1.0. This tool lets you create an XML View schema file, and relates the XDR schema to your database schema. You'll need SQL Server 2000 to use this tool, along with a basic understanding of XML.

The XML View Mapper provides database access using XML data files. It offers you a tool that automates many of the functions and validations necessary to create well formed (and thus executable) XML translations. It is a set of tools within a graphical framework.

You can download this tool from MSDN. The documentation is included in the download, and you must be an administrator to install this software.
