Among the new features in SQL Server 2005 is SQL Server Integration Services, or SSIS. This "point-and-click" database management tool now serves as the SQL Server's main extraction, transformation and loading tool, having replaced Data Transformation Services, or DTS.

Visual SourceSafe 2005 has been upgraded for better stability and access, while the new Team System and Team Foundation Server offer collaborative services and integrated functionality. The chapter also covers the project portal within SharePoint Portal Services and offers guidance on deploying and testing projects.
