According to Gartner Group research earlier this year, its takes six months and costs a company $43,000 to migrate a developer form Visual Basic 6 to VB.NET. As reported in the SearchVB.com story Gartner: VB.NET migration costs more than expected, this dollar figure encompasses training costs and lost productivity while a developers learns VB.NET on the job. However, a migration from VB 6 to C# will likely take nine months, Gartner said.
