Category: Application Testing and Security Rhino Mocks, an open-source mock object framework for .NET, has recently added support for calling void methods using Expect.Call, remote proxies and a PublicFieldConstraint. Trying out various scenarios is still part of the program in the emerging field of semantic application development. This type of development calls for unique test approaches, which TopQuadrant addresses in its new Integrated Testing Server. Category: Client Application Development Electric Rain's ZAM 3D is a modeling and animation tool for developers and designers using WPF to build client applications. Category: Database Tools The company has released new data access components, called ODACs, which supports Visual Studio 2008 and the .NET Framework 3.5.
GURA is an object-relational mapping tool that supports OLEDB databases and the full range of SQL functions. Stimulsoft Reports.Net, which can be used in WinForms or Web apps and exports reports in more than a dozen formats, now supports Word 2007. Category: Developer Life Cycle Tools The company's OnTime 2008 adds a wiki that's based on a given development project's tree hierarchy. Concurrent edits are also addressed by "locking" items in use. The company has recently updated its three Visual Studio plug-ins. Together, they cover testing, code metrics, string searches and spell check. Category: Tools and Platforms Divcom Software's HelpSmith 1.0 is a help authoring system for both .NET developers and technical writers.
