New Gears.Net suite features filtering engines for .NET

Description: Development productivity tool firm 9Rays.Net is rolling out a set of engines and components for the .NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0. The first product in the suite to be unveiled is called Gears.IFilterHelper.

Gears.IFilterHelper is based on Microsoft's proprietary IFilters technology, which the company uses in SQL Server and in Microsoft Desktop Search. Microsoft's API allows for the extraction of text from all Microsoft Office file format types. In addition, Gears.IFilterHelper supports the Adobe PDF IFilter.
