New tools at DAFS conference
The DAFS Collaborative has announced the availability of a Software Developers' Kit (SDK) to promote the integration of the Direct Access File System in software products.
The first release of the SDK will be distributed at the DAFS Developers Conference October 19-20 in Research Triangle Park, N.C.

Idetix Software Systems Inc. out of Troy, Mich. has released its Revize 3.0 content management system, which now includes new tools for developers to integrate affordable content management into new or existing Web sites and build new sites without programming language prerequisites.
InterMedia brings new encoders to the Web
InterMedia Solutions GmbH & Co. KG has released the latest revision of its Web authoring tool, I-CONTROL, release 1.3.
The software from the Munich, Germany-based company supports encoder version 8 from RealNetworks, and WindowsMedia 7 from Microsoft, and uses improved encoders to create presentation for the Internet which include simultaneous broadcast of video, audio, graphics, and text.

IVANS forms alliance with Microsoft
Greenwich, Conn.'s IVANS has entered into an alliance with Microsoft to develop applications and initiatives, including Microsoft.NET.
IVANS, an e-business integrator for the insurance and healthcare industries, will also be named as a Microsoft Partner.
