OData gets Pervasive treatment

Kathleen Kriz

Last week, Austin, Texas-based Pervasive Data, announced that it now has direct connectivity to OData. Pervasive now allows customers to create automated data flows that connect OData to their existing cloud-based or on-premises applications.

Microsoft worked to define the Open Data Protocol, or OData, as an open Web protocol for sharing data in applications. OData allows users to unlock data, free it from silos, and increase its shared value by making an environment where consumers can operate along with data producers that is more powerful, which lets applications understand a broader set of data.

Leveraging Pervasive Data Integrator allows back-end integration connectivity and tooling to pull content from any structured or unstructured repository. There is also a front-end integration connectivity it provides to take data from the DataMarket OData API to populate the range of target applications like Microsoft Dynamics CRM and ERP, SAP, and NetSuite.

The use of OData in Pervasive is expected to provide customers with comprehensive connectivity and access to the library of Pervasive integration connectors, as well as enhance the recently released Pervasive Data Integrator v10, Cloud Edition.
