Rules for .NET supports Excel input staff

Category: Developer Life Cycle Tool

Description: ILOG introduced ILOG Rules for .NET 2.0. The software supports Microsoft Office Excel 2003 as a tool for developing business rule management applications. The software also integrates with Microsoft BizTalk Server. Users can author or edit business rules using decision tables within Excel, or compose rules in an "If-Then-Else" text language in Microsoft Word. The ILOG decision tables also allow rule sharing between developers and line-of-business end users via a Web interface that alerts individuals when a rule change is made. Such collaboration is further supported by the rules engine's "Rule Team Server for Sharepoint" module. In addition to decision tables, a graphical Ruleflows tool allows users to orchestrate business rules. ILOG Rules for .NET 2.0 will be available later this fall. The company also offers related Rule Studio for .NET and Rule Team Server for SharePoint products.
