How can I add my own shell namespace extensions to the Windows Explorer?

How can I add my own shell namespace extensions to the Windows Explorer? Also, after clicking a folder on the left pane of the Windows Explorer, I want to display the contents of that folder on the right pane of the Windows Explorer using VB.NET/C#. Any help would be appreciated.
