Getting 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' error when adding a control in non-d

Getting 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' error when adding a control in non-d

I built a user control using VS.NET. Of course I used the design view to place my controls within, but when I wanted to add a control in my user control not using the design (code), I kept getting the error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." I can't find any method that builds the other controls so I can put a building code like constructor or something. Please help!

The code that initializes the controls you drop on the design surface is inside the InitializeComponent method that gets added automatically. You shouldn't modify this method as it gets regenerated everytime you change something on the page design view. The proper place to initialize your controls would be the page constructor, or directly at variable declaration time.
