Does VS.NET work on XP Home Edition?

I am trying to install Visual Studio .NET on XP Home. I get a message that I can't install without first installing FrontPage server extensions, which would require me to install IIS -- which is not supported on XP Home. What's the deal here? Do I have to have XP Professional to install Visual Studio .NET?!
According to Microsoft's system requirements page, XP Home is supported, but you can't create ASP.NET applications or XML Web services. I think all you'll have to do is cancel out of the dialog asking you to install FrontPage server extensions and you should be all set.
